National Clean-Up Day at Rowlett Creek Preserve

Calendar Happens On Sep 19, 2026
Time 9am-11am

Description

Toyah Creek in Rowlett Creek Preserve has seen quite a transformation this year! After woody debris blocked the culvert, floating litter became trapped throughout the area. Thanks to the Garland Stormwater Management Program, the debris has been cleared, and now it's time to remove the remaining litter and help restore the creek.

Celebrate National Clean-Up Day with us by giving Toyah Creek a fresh start! Whether you're looking for an easy stroll or don't mind getting a little muddy, there's a cleanup opportunity for everyone. Volunteers can collect litter from the flat areas surrounding the creek, or, for those seeking a little adventure, tackle the creek banks and shallow water where additional litter has collected.

What to Bring: We'll provide all the cleanup supplies you'll need. We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty. If you plan to help in the shallow creek, bring a change of shoes or rubber boots if you have them. And don't forget to bring water, bug spray, and your enthusiasm for making a difference!

Date: The event will take place on National Clean-Up Day (September 19th, 2026) from 9:00am-11:00am.

Location:
2525 Castle Dr, Garland, TX 75040
* We will meet in the parking lot and walk to Toyah Creek together *
