Join Dallas County Parks and Open Space and Dallas Parks and Recreation on National Trails Day (June 6th) from 8:30AM - 11:00AM to give Joppa Preserve some love! No experience is needed, just show up and and we’ll guide you through the rest. This is a great opportunity to get outside, get active, and help the community. Here's what we'll be up to:
- 8:30 - 9:00: Introduction
- 9:00 - 10:00: Litter clean-up along the trails
- 10:00 - 11:00: Privet Removal
Why it matters?
Removing litter from our preserves helps to restore natural habitats by preventing harmful materials from polluting ecosystems and from wildlife ingesting it. Plus, It keeps our preserves looking and feeling more connected to nature! Privet is an invasive species here in Texas, and it will completely take over a habitat if it is left unchecked. Removing it allows native plants and wildlife to thrive again, helping restore the ecosystem’s natural balance.
Location: 5400 Simpson Stuart Rd, Dallas, TX 75241
